Villagers Needed

When you dial 911 for a medical emergency, it is the volunteers of the Kingston First Aid Squad who respond.

We are your frineds, your neighbors, your family. We respond to calls 24 hours a day, so when you need us, we drop what we're doing and come to your aid. But, we need your help! We are desperate for volunteers that can spare just One Hour or two a week.

We always need EMT's and drivers, but most jobs of the Squad are those required to just keep theorganization running. These require no training and you don't ever have to see blood!

Vehicle Maintenance
We need people who can perform light repairs, advise us on major repairs, schedule periodic maintenance and inspections, and do what ever else needs to be done to ensure the 3 ambulances and support jeep stay in top running condition. We also, need people who can take responsibility for ordering and installing replaceable items on the vehicles, such as lights, oxygen equipment, radios, cots, etc.

Building Maintenance and Upkeep
We need folks to order supplies, change light bulbs, keep toilet paper on the rolls, ensure the grass gets cut and keep the outside neat, perform general building maintenance, suggest and implement plans that will involve carpentry, painting, etc., organize supply areas, and do what ever else is required to keep the building an enjoyable place to meet an work.

Office People Although a strictly volunteer organization, we're governed by laws and guidelines that generate paperwork. We need people that can manage this paperwork; ensuring the call slips are filled out correctly, transfer the information to the computer, and ensure our file cabinets are organized and up to date.

Medical Supply
We'd like members who can take responsibility to ensure the ambulances and supply cabinets are always correctly stocked, out of date items are replaced, and that new items are ordered and stocked.

Training Organizer
Our EMT's and First Responders require ongoing documented training, and we need people to keep track of the requirements, find and set up courses and instruction, and keep the Squad Members certificates up to date.

Counsel Members
We coordinate and communicate with other EMS agencies in our area. We need members who would sit in on the various meetings, submit the Kingston opinions, and bring back information to our members.

Inspection Coordinators
We are governed by an area first aid council and the Sate of New Jersey, and subject to regular inspections. We need people who can keep up with the state and council requirements, and ensure the items and people subjected to the inspections are up to date.

Fund Drive Coordinators
We are strictly volunteer, so we have an annual fund raiser to replenish our coffer.

Cadts Organizer
We take members as young as 14, and we need people to implement and manage our Cadets program.

Safety Coordinators
We need folks that can learn OSHA and other local, state and federal safety regulations, and ensure we are in compliance.

Social Organizers
We want to ensure that the squad is a fun place to volunteer. We need people with energy and ideas who can suggest and set up events, prepare the building for our monthly meetings, and ensure that all of our members enjoy being members.

Writers
We like to keep our members informed, and would like to have a monthly news letter so our members can keep up on news concerning EMS organizations, report on various council meetings, and other items that our membership might find interesting, fun or informative.

And, of Course, We Always Need New Riding Members!

EMT's
This requires about 120 hours of training, of which we'll set up and pay for. The information and techniques that you'll learn will give you the confidence that no matter what happens to your family, friends, or even a total stranger, you'll know what to do in any medical or accident situation.

First Responders
This requires about 60 hours of training, of which we'll set up and pay. You'll go on calls and administer care under the supervision of an EMT.

Drivers
We need people to drive the ambulances. The only requirement is a Professional Level CPR card (we'll teach and certify you at the Squad building) a drivers license and a clean record, alsong with the ability and desire to learn to drive the ambulance while simultaneously talking on the radios and working the lights and sirens. It's a lot of fun.

If you don't want to do any of these jobs and still want to help us, we'll find something for you to do!

We hope you will consider joining us. As you can see, there is a lot of help needed so we can help you. We will teach you everything we can. Please join us! We need your help! Contact: Warren Monroe at (609) 924-9494
